VETS at Corowa

Mansfield Veteran Golfers had 14 people represent our club at the Corowa event on Monday 30th July, including four ladies which was good to see. The course played pretty tough, with only one score in the 40’s and most under 36.  Big change in golfing for us from Mansfield with longer, wider fairways and some monster sized greens, compared to ours at home.

Bill Parsons was the only individual winner with a third placing in B Grade.  However, our Club President Marion Sargeant and Linda Terry were part of the winning team event for the ladies, and “Captain Snooze”, lucky Phil Conway won a prize in the raffle and took the bus pool money with a score of 34.

Next event will be at Jubilee Golf Club outside Wangaratta on Monday 27th August.  This will be the first round of the NEDVGA Championships, with the 2nd and final round at Howlong on 24th September.  Mansfield will follow in ctober and it would be good to have most of our members play then.
