Finally a week that we can call summer, with great weather and great golfing conditions. There were 3 competitions this week with 2 par rounds and the usual stableford competition on Thursday.

On Tuesday 23 members played in a par round with Taki Murakami having a great round finishing with a great score of +7. Paul Morris finished second with a score of +4 and in third place was peter Sergeant on +1.

Thursday’s stableford competition had a great field of 67. Daylight saving allows some play later in the day after they have finished with their work commitments. There were once again some great scores with the top 12 in the field either equalling or bettering their handicaps.

    A Grade

Luke Murray, the winner of Thursday’s Stableford Comp

    1st: Luke Murray 40 points (h/c14)

    2nd: Tim Hook 39 points (h/c 4) on a countback

    3rd: Peter Barnes 39 points (h/c 13)

    B Grade

    1st: Stuart Hogg 39 points (h/c 27)

    2nd: Malcolm Kinloch 37 points (h/c 34)

    3rd: Bernard Tanner 36 points (h/c 23) on a countback

Great rounds by both Luke and Stuart, with Stuart being a very early starter and Luke being one of those who play later in the day, showing how well the course is playing regardless of the time you play.

On Saturday 42 played in the second par round of the week and with that number playing there were 2 divisions.

    A Grade

Perrin Gooding, Saturdays Par Comp Winner

    2nd: Bob Speed +3 (h/c 26)

    3rd: Christopher Purcell +1 (h/c 28)

Kyle’s round means that he played the round at 3 under par. Perrin also had a great round, beating Kyle on a countback as the overall winner. As a senior member of the club still walks around the course twice a week
