  • Great Scoring from the Lady Golfers

Nice to see a new member Joanne joining our small Tuesday comp and a visitor from Caboulture. Jenny Koraus was in good form however to take the 9 hole win with 29 points.

After the wild storms on Tuesday evening, the grounds staff and volunteers were once again hard at it trying to clean up the course of all the debris. Some ladies didn’t make it due to power outages upsetting their day, others played as an alternative to sitting at home without power!  Many of the 25 who did play, tried to do our bit by picking up debris as we went around. Great to see Robyn Baker in form to win A grade with a lovely 38 points and the same for Lyn Holland for B Grade. Runner up in A grade was our Captain Sheryl Sargent with 37 and third Linda Terry with 35. In B Grade the runner up was Sue Parsons with 35 and 3rd, Glenis Skinner with 34. Line balls went to Marg Knapp (34), Sam Bailey (33), Pauline Ahola (33), Meg Broomfield (31) and Sue Crow (31). Nearest the Pins were taken out be Robyn Baker (3rd), Lousie Calvert-Jones (12th) and Sam Bailey (16).

Seven ladies played 9 holes on Thursday and the best of them was Pam Abbott with a lovely score of 21 points. Sam Bailey and Marion Foster also had great rounds with 20 and 19 respectively.

Finally on Saturday, it was certainly shaping up to be a hot one, but a couple of us who got out there just before the sun came over the mountains, were reward with glorious conditions. You’d expect the rest of the field of 17 to be suffering, but Colleen Leeds must love the heat, because she came in with the red-hot score of 41 points to win the day. Sam Bailey was once again also scoring beautifully with 40 points for runner up and Sue Parsons was 3rd with 39. Line balls went to Pauline Ahola (38), Linda Brook (36), Anne Blampied (34) and Glenis Skinner (34). Great scoring ladies! Sam and Anne each picked up a nearest the pin.
