  • Chilly Temperature Deter the Ladies

A bit of a quiet week for lady golfers as Tuesday and Wednesday proved just altogether too wet and cold for any of us!  The rain on Tuesday became a decent dump of snow for Mt Buller and our surrounding hills, including Tolmie, so this writer for one wasn’t moving away from the fire!  Our golfing buddies at Beechworth also retreated from their Wednesday comp as snow even began to fall in town there.

So it was only Saturday to report on when 9 ladies did finally brave it for a stableford round. Winner was our Ladies Captain, Sheryl Sargent with 26 points on a countback to Lesley Anderson. The scores reflecting the heavy conditions! Marion Sargeant came third on the same score, missing out on the countback, while Marion Foster got the nearest the pin on the 3rd.

Away from golf, huge thanks must go to Nicki Cooper for her efforts in arranging the Cancer Council fundraiser, the Biggest Morning Tea on Monday last week. Also to the many ladies who helped and baked and provided raffle prizes and to those who attended and dug deep. Nearly $800 was made.

A beautiful spread all laid out ready for the guests, for our Biggest Morning Tea Cancer Council fundraiser
