Ladies Golf Report week ending 1st Sept 2024

Sharon Gysberts Wins Monthly Medal

The Mansfield lady golfers are known to travel widely to play golf.  None more so than Millie Cumming, Lesley Anderson and Sam Bailey who recently travelled to Dimboola to play in the Sand Greens Championships for two days.  The long trip was worth it as Millie Cumming won the B Grade overall gross for the two days and Lesley Anderson won the B Grade nett on the second day.  Sam Bailey also played well.  Well done ladies for representing Mansfield so well.

Back home on Tuesday Marg Franke-Williams won the Stableford with 15 points on a countback from Shirley Nolan and Sharon Gysberts on 12.

Tuesday must have been a warm-up for Sharon Gysberts.  On a windy Wednesday Sharon won the Monthly Medal sponsored by Snowgum Nursery with a very good net 76.  Sharon is one of our newer lady golfers, so it was great to see her win.  Well done Sharon.

There were enough ladies for two grades as well.  Kylie Egan won A Grade on a countback from Shelly Comerford and Sam Bailey all on 78.   B Grade was of course won by Sharon from Marg Franke-Williams 78 and Shirley Nolan 81.  Nearest the pins were Millie Cumming on 3^rd, Sheryl Sargent 7^th and Shelly Comerford 10^th.  Sam Bailey won the putting.

Sheryl Sargent also won the final qualifying round for the Golf Australia Silver Spoon.

With the return of more ladies from up north, we had a good field of 16 players on Saturday for another windy day of Stableford golf.  Shirley Nolan must have been warming up all week as she won with a great 37 points.  Sheryl Sargent not far behind with 36 and Kylie Egan 34.  Line balls to Anne Blampied 33 and Lyn Poulson 29.  Nearest the pins were Linda Brook on 3rd (welcome back to our Vice Captain!) and Kylie Egan 7^th.
