Variety is the spice of life as they say and we like to offer just that when it comes to the ladies golf competitions. But this Wednesday’s seldom-used Par Bisque created a bit of “befuddlement” amongst the girls! Once mastered, it is a fun format which introduces some interesting strategies, but fair to say, it is work in progress! But for those that mastered the challenge, the standout winner was Shirley Nolan with +8. Shirley won the day and also Div 2, with runner up in that Division being Jackie Smithwick with +6. Shelly Comerford also played very well and had a good handle on the strategy, to win Div 1 with +6 and Lyn Poulson was runner up there with +3. Line balls went to Lorraine Cullen, Marg Knapp, Patsy Smiles, Lorraine Wilson, Mary Chiodo, Andrea Marsden and Robyn Baker. Shelly Comerford also scored a beautiful nearest the pin on the 3rd and Lyn Poulson picked up one on the 16th.

Six ladies turned out on Tuesday their 9-hole stroke round, with the win going to Jenny Koraus with nett 34 and runner up Anne Watkins nett 35. Thursday’s 9-hole George Walker was won by Lesley Anderson with 17 on a countback to Meg Broomfield. Finally, on Saturday, Shelly Comerford continued her good form to take the win in the Summer Cup round with 36 points from Millie Cumming 35.

Our ladies clinics continue to be good fun for all involved – participants and helpers alike – and the after-clinic coffee or drinks in the newly renovated clubhouse, go down a treat, proving what a social affair golf always is!
