• Ladies Golf Report week ending 16 Jan 22

  • Summer Golfing on the Quiet Side

The heat and humidity, plus holiday times, are currently knocking our numbers around a bit at the moment, with no-one taking on the course for 9 holes on Tuesday or Thursday.

On Wednesday, some were still missing in action, but 21 ladies ventured out in beautiful conditions and Sam Bailey was the outstanding winner of the day and Div 1 with a great round of 40 points. Hot on her heels though was Kylie Egan in div 1 with 39 points. Well done ladies.  In Div 2, the winner was Susan Kinloch with 35 on a countback from Lesley Anderson.  Line balls went to Marg Knapp 38, Linda Brook 37, Sue Crow 35, Pam Abbott and Millie Cumming 32 and Lorraine Cullen 30.  Nearest the pins went to Sam on both the 3rd and 9th, Patsy Smiles on the 12, Pam Abbott on the 16th and Sam had the nearest 3rd shot to the 18th.

Saturday saw only 8 playing, but Ladies Captain Sheryl Sargent (15) continued her good form, to win the stroke round with a very nice nett 72 from runner up Marion Foster (35) with nett 73.  Best of the line balls were Jackie Smithwick nett 74 and Milllie Cumming 76. Millie also had the nearest the pin on the 3rd.

Next week should see numbers getting back to normal and it won’t be long before we are honing our skills for the pennant season. Ladies are also reminded to get your entries in for the NE Opening Day at Yarrawonga on 25th Feb.
