• Ladies Golf Report week ending 13 Jun 21

  • Happily, Back to Golf

With the easing of restrictions once again, 11 ladies were quick to get out there and have a stableford round on Saturday. In good form, was Linda Brook to take the win with 34 points from runner up Shelly Comerford with 33.  Line balls went to Millie Cumming 31, Sheryl Sargent 30, Linda Terry 29, Marion Mitchell 28 and Lyn Poulson 27. Let’s hope next week is no too wet so that we can keep on playing! Wednesday is scheduled to be a stroke round and the second round of the Silver Spoon qualifier. Saturday coming will be the missed May Monthly Medal, kindly sponsored by Sanae’s Collections.

We were of course disappointed to have our NE Championships cancelled, given that we were hosting these at Mansfield. However, as the saying goes, there is a silver lining in every cloud as the reality was, the weather for these would have been just awful!  Let’s hope that we have beautiful spring weather for the rescheduled dates of 6-8th Sept.

In the meantime, we have opportunities for a few golfing escapes in coming weeks, with girls travelling to Tarrawingee and Black Bull for their bowls and to Howlong for Vets.

    Lyn Poulson in bunker

Lyn Poulson finds herself in a very tricky situation in the 18th bunker recently.
