• Mens Golf Report – Week ending September 2nd 2018

  • Another great week of golfing was had last week.

    August Medal winner Mark Bettany shows off his iconic style

    Tuesday’s event saw a field of 27 players out in some pleasant weather for a stableford event.

    The winner was a visitor from Garfield, Gary Bassett (10) with 38 points on a countback from Dion Sheahan (15) also with 38 points.

    Ball rundown went to 33 on a countback.

    Nearest the Pin on the third went to Bob Speed and on the sixteenth Taki Murakami was closest. Best score on the par threes went to Brendan Egan, and the best score on par fours was shared by three players.

     

    Thursday dawned with the promise of a reasonable day for golf. The field comprised of 53 golfers for the regular Stableford event with some good scores being returned. There were two players competing in the gold event.

    The winner of Division One was Geoff Brown (12) with 42 points on a countback from Dan Robertson (0). Dan shot six under par for the day!

    The winner of Division 2 was Len Foster (23) with 39 points with Dave Haslam (28) with 37 points the runner up.

    Ball run down went 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Brad Grant on the third and seventh, Ray Findlay on the ninth, Maurie Walsh on the twelfth and Dave Haslam on the sixteenth.  NTP second shot on the eighteenth went to Bill Parsons, and on the tenth was Gary Johnson and on the seventeenth was John Hawkes. The best score on the par threes went to Dave Haslam.

    The rabbits were Geoff Morris and Phil Conway.

    The Gold event saw Geoff Lowry (30) win again with 36 points.

     

    On Saturday 23 players fronted for a Stableford competition.

    The winner was Sam Sandhu (19) with 39 points from Rob Healy (18) with 36 points. The ball rundown went to 34 on a countback.

    Nearest the pin on the third was Bob Cullen, on the seventh was Brad Grant and on the ninth was Tony Crawford. NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Brad Grant.

    Best score on par threes went to Sam Sandhu, whilst three players shared the best score on Par fives.
