    Tuesday was a stableford event with a field of 36 players fronting th3 starter. Also there were two competitors in the Gold event.

    The winner of Division 1 was Michael Grimes (13) with 38 points on a countback from Geoff Morris (18). The Division 2 winner was Graham Smith (36) with a great score of 42 points on a countback from Russell Breadon (23). Ball rundown went to 34 points on a countback.

    Nearest the pins went to Nick Siperki on the 7th, and Phil Conway on the 12th. The Pro pin on the 3rd went to Oliver Pearson, whilst Michael Davis collected the Hidden Holes.

    The winner of the Gold Course was Tony Froude (23) with 40 points.

     

     

    The daylight saving Wednesday 9 hole competition is still going, with 15 golfers attending for a Stableford event on the back nine. The winner was Jarrod Heath with 23 points.

     

    On Thursday we had a good field of 49 participants front the starter for the regular Stableford event, and also 3 participants on the Gold course.

    The winner of Division 1 was Oliver Pearson (5) with an excellent score of 43 points, with Mark Bettany (5) being the runner up with 40 points.

    The winner of Division 2 was Chris Durkin (29) with 40 points from Bill Taylor (20) with 39 points.

    Ball run down went to 35 points on a countback. Nearest the on the 9th was John Plummer, the 12th was Ray Findlay and the 16th was Oliver Pearson (Hole in One). Michael Lynch took out the Pro pin on the 3rd. Chris Durkin collected the Hidden Holes. The novelty events were best score Holes 1-6 – Chris Durkin, and 12-18 going to Oliver Pearson.

    The Gold Course was won by Peter Healy (30) with 42 points.

     

    Saturday saw the Hew Blunt 3 person Memorial Ambrose being contested.

    The winning team consisted of Jarrod Heath, Rod Sargent and Dan Robertson with a score of 58.83 nett.

    Runners Up were the team of Perrin Gooding, Steve Daykin and Gary Johnson with a nett score of 59 nett.

    Ball rundown went to nett 60.83 nett on a countback.

    Nearest the pins were on the 3rd Heinz Gogol, 7th Kane Blunt, 9th Paul Richardson, 12th Maurie Walsh and the 16th Jarrod Heath. Nearest the Pin 2nd shot on the 18th was Tim Reilly.

     

    Sunday was the semi-finals of the Sunday 9 hole Golf Premier League being contested over the front nine. The combatant teams were the Colonials Vs Augusta National, and Chambers Bay Vs The Olympic Club.  The winners on the day and the teams who have now advanced to the Grand Final which will be played next week are: Augusta National vs The Olympic Club.

    Tee-off for the Final next week is 11am, with a Presentation & League Vote Count to be held in the Clubhouse from 1pm. All Sunday GPL participants are invited and encouraged to attend this event.

    The individual scores for the day were:

    Chris Kerr (26) with 21 points from Dion Theodossi (14) on a countback. Ball rundown went to 19 points.

     

    A quick tip for this week: If you miss the green and your ball ends up in a closely mown area don’t forget about the hybrid putt.  Approach the shot just as you would a putt.  Use your putting grip, stance, pre-shot routine and stroke.  You will find that with a little practice you will start getting up and down.
