• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 8th December 2019

  • The Midweek results

    Tuesday’s event saw a field of 17 players out contesting a stableford event.
    The winner was Domingo Diaz (13) with a great 42 points from Jarrod Heath (12) with 39 points. Ball rundown went to 34 points on a countback. Brad Grant was NTP on the third, whilst Dave Octigan was NTP on the ninth.

    The Wednesday twilight competition had a stableford event on the front nine with 31 competitors. The winner was Nathan Polkinghorne with 24 points from Rod Sargent with 21 points.

    Thursday’s event saw field of Sixty-six golfers fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event in warm conditions, along with 4 competitors in the gold event.
    The winner of Division One was Brad Grant (9) with a fantastic 45 points from Charlie Heath (19) with 41 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Peter Dolling (23) with 42 points from Ross Vaughan (28) with 40 points.
    Ball run down went 36 points on a countback.
    The Gold event was won by Geoff Lowry (28) with 40 points.
    Nearest the pins were Rod Sargent on the third, Charlie Heath on the seventh, Col Whytcross on the ninth, Brad Grant on the twelfth and Dave Octigan on the sixteenth. NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Mic Davis, whilst the NTP second shot on the seventeenth was Gary Johnson. The NTP second shot on the tenth was Cec McIntosh. There were two rabbits for the day, and they were Roger Eddy and Billy Moran.

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 42 players contesting a par event in warm conditions.
    The winner of Division One was Ross Penny (12) with a score of plus four on a countback from Brad Grant (8).
    The winner of division Two was Steve Daykin (19) with plus three also on a countback from Nick Jones (23).
    Ball run down went to square on a countback.
    Nearest the pin on the third was Steve Daykin, on the seventh was Rod Sargent, on the ninth was Mark Bettany, and the twelfth was Tony Crawford and on the sixteenth was Maurie Walsh. Closest second shot on the eighteenth was Rod Sargent. The closest third shot on the fifteenth was Rod Sargent. Phil Conway cleaned out the eagle’s nest with an eagle on the tenth.
