• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 8th April 2018

    Easter Monday saw 4 hardy players, do they ever give up? Out contesting another Stableford event.

    The winner was Laurie Harcus with a great 40 points.

    Tuesday’s event saw 24 players out participating for a stableford event.

    The winner was Fred Rogers (13) with 41 points from his nemesis Bob speed (24) 38 points.

    Ball rundown went to 35 on a countback. Nearest the pin on the third was Brendan Egan and on the sixteenth was Adrian Smith. NTP second shot on the seventeenth was Sam Sandhu and best scores holes 13-18 was shared by Tom Buzza, Adrian Smith and Doug Carney.

     

    Thursday’s event saw a great field of 67 golfers fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned. There were three players competing in the gold event.

    The winner of Division One was Alan Parrott (17) with a great 45 points from Robin Pratt (16) with 40 points.

    The winner of Division Two was Dave Waterton (36) with a fantastic 48 points from Chris Durkin (34) with also a great score of 45 points.

    Ball run down went 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Kevin Jacobs on the third, Tony Crawford on the seventh, Roger Eddy on the ninth, Jim Sullivan on the twelfth and Steve Daykin on the sixteenth, and Maurie Walsh collected the NTP on the eighteenth.  Best score on holes 13-18 went to Bob Thomson, Shaun Wade collected NTP second shot on the seventeenth, and Dan Robertson picked up NTP third shot on the second.

    The rabbits were Steve Chisholm and Bill Parsons.

    The Gold event saw Keith Millott (33) win with 46 points.

     

    Saturday’s event saw the running of the Annual Parsons Father and Son/Family 4BBB event.

    The winners of the 4BBB event were Craig and Maurie Walsh with a great 47 points on a countback from the teams of Peter Dolling and Mark Pearson, as well as Charlie and Jarrod Heath.

    Ball rundown went to 43 points. Nearest the pin on the third was Jackson Baddeley, on the seventh was Bob Cullen, on the ninth and on the twelfth was Shane O’Brien and on the sixteenth was Gary Henry.

    The winning team of the Father and Son event was Maurie and Craig Walsh, whilst the Family event winners were Gayle Wells and Gary Henry with 41 points on a countback.

     

    On Sunday the scratch pennant won 4/1 against Yarrawonga at home, and the handicap team defeated Jubilee 4/1 at Benalla.
