• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 7th July 2019

    The Midweek results

    On Tuesday we had a field of 23 players contesting a par event.
    The winner was Dave Octigan (10) with plus one on a countback from Chris Leaman (14) also with plus one. Ball rundown went to minus two on a countback. Nearest the Pin on the third was Dan Robertson, on the ninth was Oli Pearson and on the sixteenth was Brendan Egan. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was Brendan Egan, whilst Dan Robertson picked up the hidden holes prize.

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 60 golfing enthusiasts fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned. There were two players contesting the Gold event.

    The winner of Division One was Shaun Wade (7) with 41 points (two over the card) from Mick Cooksey (15) with 39 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Kevin Jacobs (31) with 38 points from Damien Ryan (19) with 37 points. Ball run down went 34 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Charlie Heath on the third, Chris Leaman on the seventh, Oli Shaw on the ninth, Rob Fankhauser on the twelfth and Rod Sargent on the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Rod Sargent. The NTP second shot on the tenth hole was taken out by Taki Murakami, and the hidden holes was shared between Perrin Gooding and Mick Cooksey.
    The Gold event winner was Geoff Lowry (26) with 29 points.
    There were two rabbits for the day, being Josh foots and Martin Slack.

    The Weekend results

    Saturday’s event was a stroke competition for the June monthly medal with 32 golfers vying for the prize.
    The winner of was Rob Healy (18) with a net 71 from Phil Conway (13) with a nett 72 on a countback. Ball run down went to nett 78 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Rob Pratt on the third, Rob Purcell on the seventh, Peter Vallance on the twelfth and Mark Jones on the sixteenth. The NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Martin Lloyd. The hidden holes winner was Rob Purcell. The closest second shot on the tenth went to Mark Bettany. The JD Perks best scratch score went to Mark Bettany with a 78 gross.
