• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 7th April 2019

    Great scores still the name of the game.

    Tuesday had 25 players contesting a par event.
    The winner was Taki Murakami (11) with a great plus seven from Dion Sheahan (16) with plus three. Ball rundown went to minus One on a countback. Nearest the Pin on the third was Shaun Wade, on the seventh was Brad Grant, on the ninth was Taki Murakami, on the twelfth was Trevor Wright and on the sixteenth was Dion Sheahan.     Wednesday’s daylight saving event was a stableford competition with 26 players competing. The winner was Jeremy Veneman and runner up was Bob Speed.

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 52 golfing enthusiasts fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned. There were two players contesting the Gold event.

     

    The winner of Division One was Rod Sargent (3) with a fantastic score of 42 points (3 under the card) from Rob Healy (19) with 39 points.
    The winner of Division two was John Gilson (24) with an impressive 45 points from Bob Speed (24) with 40 points. Ball run-down went to 37 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Rod Sargent on the third, Blair St.Anne on the seventh, Rod Sargent on the ninth, Blair St.Anne on the twelfth and Kevin Jacobs on the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Rod Sargent. The best score holes 7-12 was won by John Hayes. The closest to the pin on the first was Shane O’Brien.
    The Gold event winner was Keith Millott (33) with 34 points on a countback.
    There were two rabbits for the day, being Martin Slack and Bill Taylor.

    Saturday’s event was a stableford competition with 29 players enjoying the continuing warm March conditions. The winner was Simon Rouget (28) with a sensational score 46 points from Rob Healy (19) with an equally impressive 40 points. Ball run down went to 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Sam Sandhu on the third, Rod Sargent on the seventh, Gary Lucas on the ninth, Sam Sandhu on the twelfth and Simon Rouget on the sixteenth. The second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Mark Jones. The two novelty events, being Best Score on Par 4’s and Best score on holes 13-18 both being collected by Simon Rouget.
