The Midweek Results

Ray Findlay feeling a bit sheepish on the way home from Vets

Monday’s event was the Vets stableford competition at Yarrawonga with 11 players in the mix for the prizes.
The winners were Col Whytcross with 36 points, Tom Swan with 34 points and Dave Smithwick with 32 points.
Dave was also the bus bandit cleaning up the pool rather easily.

Tuesday’s event was a par competition with 15 players in the mix for the prizes.
The winner was Adam Holt (13) with square from John Koraus (12) with minus one.
Ball rundown went to minus six on a countback.
The nearest the pins on the par threes were – Brad Grant on the third and Adam Holt on the seventh.

Thursday’s event saw a field of 56 happy golfers fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event. There were also six competitors in the Gold event.
The winner of Division One was Bill Parsons (16) with 36 points from Mic Davis (11) also with 36 points on a countback.
The winner of Division Two was Trevor West (24) with 38 points from Daryl Horwood (24) with 36 points.
Ball run down went 32 points on a countback.
The nearest the pins were Maurie Walsh on the third, Ray Findlay on the seventh, Scott Crow on the ninth, Rod Sargent on the twelfth and Stuart Jarvis on the sixteenth. NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Alan Agar. The nearest the pin third shot on the second was Martin Slack, whilst the NTP second shot for on the tenth was Alan Eustace, and the NTP second shot on the seventeenth was Rob Fankhauser.
The winner of the Gold Event was Geoff Lowry (19) with 37 points from Neil Walker (14) with 33 points.
The rabbits for the day were Charlie Heath and Billy Moran.

The weekend results

The club championships have been postponed to this weekend following the suspension of play owing to the Covid lockdown.

The current standings in the championships are:-
A Grade – Mark Jones on 151 from Mark Bettany on 155
B Grade – Josh Green on 164 from Dave Octigan on 167
C Grade – John Koraus and Brad Grant on 171 from Alan Parrott on 172
D Grade – Tom Swan on 198 from Don Clutterbuck on 199
