  • The Midweek Results

    Monday saw 15 vet’s journey over to Wangaratta for their monthly competition.
    The inners on the day were Robin Pratt (15) taking out third place in B grade. Geoff Morris was in the winning team, and Gary Johnson winning second prize in the raffle.

    Tuesday’s event was a par competition with 22 players in the mix for the prizes.
    The winner was Phil Conway (8) with plus three from bob Speed (20) also with plus three on a countback.
    Ball rundown went to minus three on a countback.
    The nearest the pins on the par threes were – Phil Conway on the seventh and Geoff Brown on the ninth. The NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Domingo Diaz. The hidden holes winner was Laurie Harcus. The hidden holes encouragement award was shared by Domingo Diaz, Neil Walker and Chris Leaman.

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 63 happy golfers fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event. There were also six competitors in the Gold event.
    The winner of Division One was Josh foots (15) with 37 points from Jim Sullivan (14) with 34 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Keith Murphy (26) with 37 points from Bob Speed (20) with 37 points on a countback.
    Ball run down went 32points on a countback.
    The nearest the pins were Bob Cullen on the third, Josh Foots on the seventh, Dave Octigan on the ninth, Jim Sullivan on the twelfth and Peter Smiles on the sixteenth. NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Rod Sargent. The NTP third shot on the tenth for handicaps 24 to 36 was Ian Jones, the third shot on ther fifteenth for handicaps +2 to 11 was Tony Crawford and the second shot on the seventeenth for handicaps 12 to 23 was Gary Johnson.
    The winner of the Gold Event was Neil Walker (14) with 34 points from John McCaskill (19) with 33 points.
    The rabbits for the day were Mark Jones and Steve Chisholm.

    The weekend results

    Saturday’s event was a stableford competition with 38 players competing..
    The winner was Andrew Armsden (13) with 40 points from Peter Dolling (22) with 39 points,
    Ball run down went to 31 points on a countback.
    The nearest the pins were on the third Brad Grant, on the seventh was Peter Dolling, on the ninth was Kyle Bridgman, on the twelfth was Ken Neale and on the sixteenth was Alan Eustace. NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Rod Sargent. The best score on the par threes was shared between Peter Dolling and John Koraus.

    On Sunday the handicap pennant team journeyed over to Beechworth to play Jubilee. The team had an unfortunate day losing 3 and 2. The scratch team went to Wodonga and lost to Thurgoona 3 and 2.
    This means that unfortunately both teams have missed out on the finals by the barest of margins.
