Men’s Golf Report – Week Ending 2nd June 2019

The Midweek results

Tuesday had a field of eleven players out battling the rather cold conditions for a stableford event. The winner was Brad Grant (11) with 43 points from Blair St Anne (4) with 38 points. Ball rundown went to 32 points on a countback. Nearest the Pin second shot on the eighteenth was Brad Grant.

Thursday’s event saw the regular Stableford event being conducted with some great scores being returned, with fifty-nine players in the competition and three in the Gold event. The winner of Division One for the second Thursday in succession was Taki Murakami (10) with a great score of 38 points from Shaun Wade (8) with 37 points. The winner of Division Two was Keith Murphy (26) with 36 points from Ray Findlay (24) with 35 points.
Ball run down went 33 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Ray Findlay on the third, Geoff Morris on the seventh, Adam Holt on the ninth, Oli Shaw on the twelfth and Aaron Madsen on the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Bob Speed and closest to the pin second shot on the seventeenth was Peter Vallance. The mystery holes was shared between Ray Findlay and Keith Murphy.
The Gold event was won by Les Wood (33) with 35 points.
There were two rabbits for the day, being Gary Johnson and Josh Foots.

The Weekend results

Saturday’s event was stableford competition, with the cold but sunny weather reducing the field somewhat. The winner was Bill Parsons (16) with a fine 40 points from Mark Bettany (6) with 39 points. Ball rundown went to 32 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Shaun Wade on the third, George Krasnowski on the seventh and Shaun Wade on the sixteenth. The closest second shot on the eighteenth was Aaron Knight. The hidden holes were won by Mark Bettany.
