• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 2nd December 2018

  • Congratulations this week go to the winning Holden Scramble team of Brad Grant, Sam Sandhu, Tony Crawford and Alan Parrott.

    Winning Volkswagen Scramble Team: Alan Parrott, Sam Sandhu, Tony Crawford, Brad Grant.

    Tuesday’s event was a stableford competition with 34 players vying for the win. This culminated in Alan Eustace (14) having a great 43 points from Gordon Jeffs (35) with an excellent 41 points.

    Ball rundown went to 37 points on a countback.

    Nearest the pin on the third was Alan Eustace, the seventh and on the sixteenth was Steve McMahon. The best score on holes 13-18 was Mike Irwin, whilst the hidden holes was taken out by Alan Eustace.

     

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 68 very happy and contented souls fronting the starter for a return of the Volkswagen Scramble Ambrose.

    The winning team of Brad Grant, Sam Sandhu, Tony Crawford and Alan Parrott with a nett 51.25, which was a gross core of 57 and they are now off to the regional finals in March next year.

    Runners up were the team of Cam Lester, Oliver Shaw, Rob Purcell and Jeremy Veneman with a nett 55.87.

    Nearest the pins were: Sam Sandhu’s team on the third, Len Foster’s team on the seventh, Mille Cumming’s team on the ninth, Ben Martin’s team on the twelfth on the twelfth and Shaun Wade’s team on the sixteenth. Closest second shot on the eighth went to Rob Healy’s team whilst on the eleventh it was Dean Grining’s team.

     

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 60 players contesting the Hew Blunt Memorial Ambrose event.

    The winning team of Chris Leaman, Clive Marsden and Sam Sandhu had a score of 57.75 nett from Frank Devries, Robert Dundas and Brad Grant with 58.33 nett.

    Ball run down went to nett 61.33. Nearest the pins were Steve Daykin’s team on the third, Mic Davis’s team on the seventh, Jimmy Herridge’ s team on the ninth, Mark Jones’s team on the twelfth and Clive Marsden’s team on the sixteenth. The least successful team was Tony Cooksey, Tim Reilly and Peter Hood.
