• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 28th January 2018

  • Congratulations this week go to both Mark Bettany and Ben Millott for their two under rounds on Thursday and Saturday respectively.

    Now for this week’s results

    On Monday the vets journeyed to Yarrawonga for their monthly event.

    Highlights were Geoff Brown fourth in A grade with 37 points, Maurie Walsh second in B grade with 36 points and nearest the pin on the 12th.

     

    Tuesday’s event saw 24 players out for a stroke event.

    The winner was Jarrod Heath (12) with a score of nett 66 from Sam Sandhu (18) with a nett 67

    Ball rundown went to nett 69 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Jarrod Heath on the seventh and Bob Thomson on the 16th. Nearest the Pin second shot on the 18th went to Brad Grant whilst the pro pin was collected by Graham Smith. The best score holes 1-6 was won by Paul Norris.

     

    Wednesday’s nine hole event was a stableford affair this week. The winner was Jimmy Herridge (30) with 21 points AGAIN!

     

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 55 happy golfers fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some hot scores being returned. There were two players competing in the gold event.

    The winner of Division One was Maurie Walsh (14) with a great 43 points from Mark Bettany (4) with a great 42 points. (2 under the card)

    The winner of Division Two was Billy Moran (28) with 39 points on a countback from Peter Dolling (19).

    Ball run down went 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Gary Johnson on the seventh, Mark Bettany on the ninth, Damien Ryan on the 12th and Maurie Walsh on the 16th, and Geoff Brown.

    The Gold event saw Peter Healy (31) win with 42 points.

     

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 40 players contesting a stableford event

    The winner of Division One was Ben Millott (4) with a great 42 points from David Cochrane (11) with 40 points.

    Division Two was won by Fraser Stevenson (18) with 42 points from Jimmy Herridge (30) with 41 points.

    Ball run down went to 38 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Tom Buzza on the seventh, Sam Sandhu on the ninth and twelfth and Andrew Murray on the 16th. The nearest the pin second shot on the 18th was claimed by Steve Daykin, whilst the Pro Pin on the third went to Jimmy Herridge. The best score holes 15-18 was shared by Brian Little and Patrick Marks, whilst Steve Chisholm took out the best score holes 7-12.
