• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 26th May 2019

  • Congratulations to Mark Bettany on winning the May Monthly Medal.

    On Tuesday we had a field of 23 players contesting a stableford event.
    The winner was Dave Octigan (11) with a great 42 points from Graham Smith (34) with 42 points. Ball rundown went to 32 points on a countback. Nearest the Pin on the third was Alan Eustace and on the sixteenth was Steve Cooksey. The closest to the pin second shot on the eighteenth was Dave Octigan..

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 60 golfing enthusiasts fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned. There were two players contesting the Gold event. The winner of Division One was Taki Murakami (11) with great 43 points from Nick Siperki (14) with 40 points. The winner of Division Two was Kerry Hartwig (22) with a fantastic 45 points from Bill Taylor (25) with 40 points. Ball run down went 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Steve Daykin on the third, Brad Grant on the seventh, Peter Vallance on the ninth, Paul Cougle on the twelfth and Dave Haslam on the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Paul Cougle. The hidden holes winner was Nick Siperki. Nearest the Pin second shot on the tenth was Taki Murakami, whilst on the first it was Phil Conway
    The Gold event winner was Geoff Lowry (28) with 38 points.
    There were two rabbits for the day, being Tony Pridham and Josh Foots.

    Saturday’s event was a stroke competition for the May monthly medal with 34 golfers vying for the prize. The winner of the day and May medallist was Mark Bettany (6) with a nett 69 on a countback from Josh foots (22) also with a nett 69. Ball run down went to nett 75 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Aaron Knight on the third, Adam Watts on the seventh, Steve Chisholm on the ninth, Jeremy Veneman on the twelfth and Dan Robertson on the sixteenth. The NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Blair St.Anne. The hidden holes was shared between Peter Vallance, Josh Foots and Kane Blunt. The JD Perks best scratch score went to Mark Bettany with a 75 gross.
