Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 25th November 2018

Congratulations this week go to Peter Dolling for his win in the November Monthly Medal.

 

Tuesday’s event saw a field of 22 players out in the spring weather for a stableford event.

The winner was Geoff Brown (11) with a great 43 points from Taki Murakami (12) with 41 points.

Ball rundown went to 37 points on a countback. Nearest the Pin on the third was Brad Grant, on the seventh was Rob Healy, on the ninth was Brad Grant and on the sixteenth was Taki Murakami.

 

Thursday’s event saw a field of 33 golfers fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned. There were two players competing in the gold event.

The winner was Dave McKenzie (29) with a great score of 42 points on a countback from Tony Pridham (10) also with 42 points.

Ball run down went 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Oliver Shaw on the third, David McKenzie on the seventh, Tony Pridham on the ninth and on the twelfth, and on the sixteenth was Shaun Wade. Nearest the Pin second shot on the eighteenth was Trevor West, whilst the NTP second shot on the seventeenth was Sam Sandhu.

The rabbits were Maurie Walsh and Dave Octigan.

The Gold event saw Geoff Lowry (30) winning with 27 points.

 

Saturday’s event saw a field of 55 players contesting the November medal on a pleasant spring day sponsored by Delatite Dental.

The winner of Division One was Shaun Wade (with a fine nett 71 from Tony Cooksey (14) with a nett 72.

The winner of Division Two and November Medallist was Peter Dolling (21) with a great nett 69 from Jimmy Herridge (29) with a nett 70.

Ball rundown went to nett 73 on a countback.

Nearest the pin on the third was Brett Clarebrough, on the seventh was Maurie Walsh, on the ninth was Bob Speed, the twelfth was collected by Paul Richardson and on the sixteenth was Phil Hayes. Alex Stephens won the NTP second shot on the eighteenth, whilst Tony Pridham collected the NTP second shot on the tenth. Best score on the Par Three’s went to Maurie Walsh. Rod Sargent collected the JD Perks best scratch score for the day.
