• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 25th February 2018

    Now for this week’s results.

    Tuesday’s event saw 29 players out for a stableford event.

    The winner Peter Baddeley (17) with a score of 41 points from Bob Thomson (22) with 39 points.

    Ball rundown went to 34 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Tony Crawford on the ninth, Jarrod Heath on the twelfth and Brad Grant on the 16th. The pro pin on the third went to Rob Healy. The best score holes 7-12 went to John Hayes.

    Wednesday’s nine hole event was a stableford affair this week on the back nine. The winner was Phil Conway with 18 points from Rob Healy with 17 points.

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 68 souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some hot scores being returned. There was one player competing in the gold event.

    The winner of Division One was Maurie Walsh (13) a great score of 42 points on a countback from Rod Sargent (6) which was an even par round.

    The winner of Division Two was Nick Jones (23) also with a great score of 42 from Beau Purcell (26) with a score of 41 points.

    Ball run down went 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Rob Fankhauser on the seventh, Steve McMahon on the ninth, Maurie Walsh on the 12th and Brad Grant on the 16th, and nearest the pin second shot on the 18th went to Clive Marsden. Steve McMahon took out the pro pin on the third.  Best score on holes 1-6 was won by Perrin Gooding. Best score on the par 5’s went to Nick Jones. The rabbits for the day went to Gary Johnson and Alan Agar.

    The Gold event saw Peter Healy the winner with 41 points.

     

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 52 players contesting the February Monthly Medal.

    The winner of Division One was Phil Conway (10) a great score nett 64 with Fred Rogers (14) the runner up with a nett 67.

    The winner of Division Two and the February Medal was Brendan Egan (19) with fantastic nett 63 from Sam Sandhu (18) with a nett 68.

    Ball run down went to nett 72 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Phil Conway on the 7th, Geoff Brown on the 9th, Mark Pearson on the 12th and Fred Rogers on the 16th. The nearest the pin second shot on the 18th was claimed by Chris Leaman, whilst the Pro Pin on the third went to Brendan Egan. Nearest the pin second shot on the sixth went to Roger Eddy. The JD Perks scratch winner was shared by Rod Sargent and Phil Conway with 74 gross. Michael Harrison scored an eagle on fourth hole to take out the eagles nest.
