• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 22nd April 2018

  • Congratulations this week go to Danny Robinson for his win in last Saturday’s April Monthly Medal competition, sponsored by the Goughs Bay Golfers.

    This week’s results.

    Tuesday’s event saw 33 players out participating for a stableford event.

    The winner was Dan Robertson (1) with an excellent 41 points (four under par) on a countback from Adrian Lewis (29).

    Ball rundown went to 35 on a countback. Nearest the pin on the third was Chris Leaman, on the seventh was Peter Dolling and on the sixteenth was Brendan Egan. Nearest the pin second shot on the seventeenth was Oliver Shaw. Best scores holes 13-18 was won by Dan Robertson.

    Thursday’s event saw a great field of 61 golfers fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned. There was one player competing in the gold event.

    The winner of Division One was Maurie Walsh (12) with a great 43 points from Mark Pearson (10) with 42 points.

    The winner of Division Two was Keith Murphy (25) with 41 points on a countback from Chris Durkin (32).

    Ball run down went 38 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Martin Slack on the third, Dave Haslam on the seventh, Aaron Madsen on the ninth, Shaun Wade on the twelfth and Tony Crawford on the sixteenth, and Geoff Brown collected the NTP on the eighteenth.  Best score on holes 13-18 was shared by Dave Haslam and Leith Murphy. Frank Zeidler collected NTP second shot on the seventeenth, and, Adam Holt collected NTP second shot on the tenth.

    The rabbits were not to hand at the time of publication.

    The Gold event saw Les Wood (33) win with 31 points.

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 59 players out contesting the April Monthly Medal.

    The winner of Division One was Shaun Wade (10) with a great nett 67 from Tony Crawford (5) with a nett 68.

    The winner of Division Two was and the medal was Danny Robinson (18) with a fantastic nett 66 from Laurie Harcus (24) with a great nett 67.

    Ball rundown went to nett 72 on a countback. Nearest the pin on the third was Steve Daykin, on the seventh was Kane blunt, on the ninth Sam Sandhu, on the twelfth was Alan Eustace and on the sixteenth was Brendan Egan. Peter Vallance collected the NTP 2nd shot on first.  The third shot on the fifteenth was not announced, whilst the second shot on the 18th went to Dan Robertson.

    PENNANT

    On Sunday the scratch pennant squared 2 1/2 to 2 1/2 to Wodonga at Wodonga, and the handicap team defeated Jubilee 3/2 at Beechworth.

    This now means the handicap boys play their arch rivals Tarrawingee at Jubilee on Sunday for the flag.
