Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 21st October

Tuesday’s cold snap saw a small field of 18 players out contesting a stableford event.
The winner was Paul Norris (26) with a great score of 44 points from Bill Taylor (25) with a good score of 41 points.
Ball rundown went to 36 points on a countback. Nearest the Pin and third was Peter Dolling and on the ninth and sixteenth was Peter Baddeley.

Thursday’s event saw a great field of 68 very happy souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some fantastic scores being returned.
The winner of Division One was Dan Robertson (1) with a fantastic 45 points (8 under the card) from Alan Parrott (15) with a great 42 points.
The winner of Division Two was Laurie Harcus (23) with a great score of 43 points from Peter Hunt (33) with a good score of 42 points.
Ball run down went 39 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Dale Daly on the third, Sam Sandhu on the seventh, Dan Robertson on the ninth, Geoff Morris on the twelfth and Mike Harrison on the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Adrian Smith, Brad Grant was nearest the pin second shot on the tenth and Laurie Harcus collected the NTP second shot on the seventeenth. Best score on the par fives went to Dan Robertson.
There were 2 rabbits for the day, being Peter Sargeant and Mark Bettany.

Snake Pit (113 points) lost to Hard Real Hard (121 points)

TMG’s (120 points) Def The Backwards Team (97 points)
The semi-finals on Thursday will be X-Factors Vs Hard Real Hard and Hounds of Stableford Vs TMG’s.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Saturday’s event was first round of the Club Championships.

Despite the rather wet weather, we had a field of 49 players out contesting the day.
The winner of Division One was Domingo Diaz (13) with a nett 68 from Mark Jones (8) with a nett 71.
The winner of Division Two was Adam Holt (19) also with a nett 68 on a countback from Rob Healy (18).
Ball run down went to nett 72 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Rod Sargent on the third, Chris Anderson on the seventh, Clive Marsden on the ninth, Bill Hammen on the twelfth, and Domingo Diaz on the sixteenth. The second shot on the eighteenth was Mark Jones and best score on holes 13-18 was Jimmy Herridge.

Sunday’s event was the second round of the Club Championships.

Following Saturdays drenching all players were ecstatic to see the warm sunshine despite the chilly breeze.
The winner of Division One was Brad Grant (10) with a nett 69 on a countback from Mark Pearson (10).
The winner of Division Two was Tom Swan (33) with a nett 66 on a countback from Alan Parrott (15).
Ball run down went to nett 72 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Brad Grant on the third and seventh, Dean Grining on the ninth, Maurie Walsh on the twelfth, and Dean Grining on the sixteenth. The second shot on the eighteenth was Mark Bettany and best score on holes 1-6 was Alan Parrott.
