    Bob Speed in action recently

    Tuesday had a field of twenty-three players competing in a stroke event. The winner was Bob Speed (25) with a nett 68 from Adrian Smith (23) with a nett 70.
    Ball run down went to nett 75 on a countback. The best score on holes 8 to 13 was Bob Cullen.

    Thursday’s event saw the regular Stableford event being conducted with sixty players competing, and with some very impressive scores being returned..
    The winner of Division One was Gary Johnson (18) with 40 points from Rob Fankhauser (13) with 38 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Don Clutterbuck (22) with an impressive 42 points from Trevor Wright (21) with 41 points.
    Ball run down went 34 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Rob Dundas on the third, Tony Crawford on the seventh, Bob Cullen on the ninth, Dale Daly on the twelfth and Rob Fankhauser on the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was Don Clutterbuck.
    The nearest the pin second shot on the tenth was Maurie Walsh, whilst NTP second shot on the seventeenth was Adam Holt.
    There were two players battling it out for the gold event. This was won by Geoff Lowry (28) with 37 points.
    There were two rabbits for the day. The recipients were Peter Sargeant and Martin Slack.

    The Young Guns (96) lost to TMG’s (117 points)
    Premium Unleaded (100 points) lost to The Freds (103 points)
    Eagles and Birdies (97 points) lost to Snake Pit (109 points)

    The Weekend results

    Saturday’s event was the first round of the club championships with 44 players competing.
    The winner of Division One was Kane Blunt (9) with a 68 nett on a countback from Roger Eddy (8).
    The winner of Division Two was Bill Parsons (17) with an impressive nett 66 from Fred Rogers (20) with a nett 67.
    Line balls went down to nett 72 on a countback.
    Nearest the pin on the third was Simon Rouget, on the seventh was Blair St Anne, on the ninth was Tony Cooksey, on the twelfth was Jim Herridge and on the sixteenth was Mark Jones. The nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was Peter Vallance.
    The hidden holes for the par three and fives was Bill Parsons, for the par fours it was Fred Rogers.

    Sunday’s event was the second round of the club championships with 44 players again in the mix.
    The winner of Division One was Maurie Walsh (13) with a 70 nett from Mark Jones (4) with a nett 71.
    The winner of Division Two was Alan Parrott (18) with magnificent nett 63 from Sam Sandhu (18) with a nett 67.
    Line balls went down to nett 75 on a countback.
    Nearest the pin on the third was Bill Parsons, on the seventh was Mark Jones, on the ninth was Chris Anderson, on the twelfth was Tony Crawford and on the sixteenth was Alan Parrott. The nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was Blair St Anne.
    The hidden holes was won by Don Clutterbuck.
