• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 19th August 2018

  • Tuesday’s event saw a smaller field of 17 players out in some cold and windy weather for a stableford event.

    The winner was Maurie Walsh (12) with 38 points on a countback from Brad Grant (8) also with 38 points, with the ball rundown going to 34 on a countback.

    Nearest the Pin on the third went to Bob Cullen and best sore on even holes went to Brad Grant. Tommy Britton collected the best score on the par fives.

    Thursday dawned with a reasonable bit of wind blowing. The field comprised of 48 golfers for the regular Stableford event with some good scores being returned. There were three players competing in the gold event.

    The winner of Division One was Nick Siperki (15) with 38 points from Bob Cullen (13) on a countback.

    The winner of Division 2 was evergreen Perrin Gooding (28) with 35 points with Ken Fisher (28) on 34 points the runner up.

    Ball run down went to 33 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were welcome back Rob Fankhauser on the third, Dave Waterton on the seventh, Geoff Morris on the ninth, Shaun Wade on the twelfth and Maurie Walsh on the sixteenth.  The best score on holes 7-12 was shared between Nick Siperki and Bob Cullen, whilst the best score on the odd holes also went to Bob Cullen.

    The rabbits were Rob Healy and Tony Crawford.

    The Gold event saw Geoff Lowry (30) win again with 42 points.

     

    Saturday, with a poor weather forecast and no carts allowed on the course, only 13 players competed.

    The winner was Rob Healy (18) with a good wet weather score of 34 points. The ball rundown went to 32 on a countback.

    Nearest the pin on the third was Michael Cooksey and on the sixteenth was Brad Grant.

    All players are advised that the team payment MUST be made by Wednesday 5th September.  If the team is not financial, they will be ineligible to compete.
