Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 18th November 2018

Tuesday’s Stableford event had a small field of 12 players contesting the stableford event.

The winner was Geoff Brown (10) with a score of 41 points from Adrian Smith (25) with 40 points.

Line balls went 36 on a countback.

Thursday’s event saw a field of 65 players fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned. There were two players contesting the Gold event

The winner of Division One was Alan Parrott (14) with a score of 40 points from Bob Cullen (14) with 38 points.

The winner of Division Two was Trevor West (26) with a score of 42 points on a countback from Tom Swan (31) also with 42 points.

Ball run down went 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Dave Wilson on the third, Peter Vallance on the seventh, Tony Pridham on the ninth, Dean Scratchard on the twelfth and Bill Moran on the sixteenth.  Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Trevor West, Tony Pridham was NTP third shot on the fourth whilst Steve McMahon collected the NTP second shot on the seventeenth. The best score for the par threes went to Steve Daykin.

The Gold event winner was Geoff Lowry (30) with 41 points.

There were two rabbits for the day, being Blair St Anne and Gary Johnson.

 

Saturday’s event was a Par event with 50 players competing and incorporating the last 32 play-off for the Mansfield Cup.

The winner of Division One was Dave Octigan (13) with a score of plus three from Gary Henry (15) with plus two.

The winner of Division Two was rob Pratt (17) with a score of plus four from Steve Daykin (17) with plus two.

Nearest the pins were Sam Sandhu on the third, Peter Vallance on the seventh, Blair St Anne on the ninth, Peter Vallance on the twelfth and Graham Mear on the sixteenth. The second shot on the eighteenth was Gary Henry. Nearest the Pin second shot on ten was Kane Blunt, whilst NTP third shot on the fourth was Dave Octigan.

 

Congratulations to the Match Play Championship winners, A Grade – Dean Grining, B Grade – Brad Grant, C Grade – Sam Sandhu and D Grade – Graham Mear.

With some great play all the matched were played in fantastic spirit.
