• Men’s Golf Report – Week Ending 18/03/2018

    Congratulations this week go to Glenn Douglas for his great 44 points in last Saturday’s competition.

    Now for this week’s results:

    Tuesday’s event saw 29 players out participating for a stableford event.
    The winner was Ken Fisher (29) with a great 43 points from John Hayes (33) with 42 points.
    Ball rundown went to 36 on a countback. Nearest the pin on the third was Rob Dundas, on the ninth was Paul Norris and on the sixteenth was Trevor Wright. NTP second shot on the eighteenth was Taki Murakami and best scores holes 1-6 was shared by John Hayes and Paul Norris.

    Wednesday’s nine hole event was a stableford event from on the back nine. The winners were not to hand at the time of going to press.

    Thursday’s event saw a great field of 58 golfers fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned. There were two players competing in the gold event.
    The winner of Division One was Alan Parrott (17) with a great 41 points from Fred Rogers (14) with 40 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Charlie Heath (21) with 39 points from John Hawkes (25) on a countback.
    Ball run down went 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Clive Marsden on the third, Maurie Walsh on the seventh, Brad Grant on the ninth, Steve Daykin on the twelfth and Mike Irwin on the sixteenth, and Geoff Brown collected the NTP on the eighteenth. Best score on holes 13-18 was shared by Fred Rogers, Tom Buzza and Dave Haslam. Sam Sandhu collected NTP second shot on the seventeenth, and Nick Siperki collected the tenth with an eagle!
    The rabbits were Geoff Morris and Dave Octigan.
    The Gold event saw Les Wood (33) win with 34 points from Keith Millott (33) with 33 points.

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 44 players out contesting a stableford event.
    The winner of Division One was Tony Crawford (6) with 39 points from Mark Pearson (11) with 38 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Glenn Douglas (17) with 44 points from Adrian Rowe (22) with 39 points.
    Ball rundown went to 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pin on the third was Perrin Gooding, on the ninth was Gerrard Mac Isaac and on the sixteenth was Brad Grant. Rob Fankhauser collected the NTP 2nd shot on 18th. NTP 2nd shot on the 17th was won by Alex Stephens, third shot on the fifteenth went to Mark Bettany, and best scores holes 7-12 was won by Ken Fisher.
    On Sunday the scratch pennant lost 3½ to 1½ to Yarrawonga at Thurgoona, and the handicap team defeated Tarrawingee 3/2.

    Saturday 31st March – Stableford

    Presentation of the Course Management Plan will take place at the clubhouse on Thursday 29th March at 5.30pm. Paul from Pacific Coast Deign will provide a complete rundown of all holes during this time.
