Men’s Golf Report Week Ending 15th November 2020

The Midweek Results

Tuesday’s fine weather brought out 26 players to contest stroke event.
The winner was Adrian Smith (22) with a fine nett 68 on a countback form Dave Smithwick (16) also with a nett 68.
Ball rundown went to nett 76 on a countback, and the Best Score on holes seven thru twelve was Adrian Smith.

Thursday’s event saw a great field of 78 golfing enthusiasts fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some excellent scores being returned.
The winner of Division One was Dan Robertson (+2) with 37 points (three under the card) from Taki Murakami (10) with 36 points.
The winner of Division Two was John Koraus (17) with 39 points from Bob Cullen (15) with 37 points.
The winner of Division Three was Jimmy Herridge (24) with the excellent score of the day – 44 points from John Hawkes (25) with 40 points.
Ball run down went 34 points on a countback.
The best score on the ODD holes was shared between Clive Marsden and Tony Pridham, whilst the on the EVEN holes this was shared by Jarrod Heath and Mark Jones. The best score on holes seven thru twelve was also shared between Rob Fankhauser and Clive Marsden.
There were two rabbits for the day, being Martin slack and Brad Grant.
The Gold event had five competitors, with the winner being Bob Speed (14) with 37 points from runner-up Frank Zeidler (18) with 36 points.
The Golf Premier League semi-final results resulted in very close finishes with the scores being:
Sicarios (106 points) lost to The Internationals (107 points)
Snake Pit (103 points) lost to X-Factors (104 points)
This now leads into the final next Thursday between the X-Factors and The Internationals.

Saturday’s event was a Stableford competition with 52 competitors in the field.
The winner of Division One was Domingo Diaz (11) with a fantastic 44 points from Graham Clarke (11) with 40 points.
The winner of Division Two Nick Siperki (15) with 41 points from Sam Sandhu (15) with 39 points.
Ball run down went to nett 34 points on a countback. The best score on holes 3 to 8 was Domingo Diaz. The hidden holes went to Graham Clarke and the Super Holes of 1 to 4 was taken out by Geoff Brown.

Sunday saw the finals of the club matchplay being conducted with some large and close margins in the matches.
