• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 14th October

  • Tuesday’s event saw a field of 24 players out contesting a stableford event.

    The winner was Peter Baddeley (18) with a great score of 43 points from Chris Leaman (15) with a good score of 42 points. (Welcome back from illness Chris).

    Robin Pratt blasts one off the 6th tee 

    Ball rundown went to 37 points on a countback. Nearest the Pin and third was Mic Davis, on the ninth was Chris Leaman and on the sixteenth was Nick Siperki. Nearest the Pin second shot on the seventeenth was Robert Dundas. Best score on holes 13 to 18 was shared by two players.

    Thursday’s event saw a great field of 74 very happy souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some fantastic scores being returned. There were two gold participants.

    The winner of Division One was Maurie Walsh (12) with a great 41 points from Dave Octigan (14) with 39 points.

    The winner of Division Two was Geoff Morris (20) with a score of 40 points from Rob Healy (19) with 39 points.

    The winner of Division Three was Peter Hunt (34) with a great score of 42 points from Dave Haslam (28) with 38 points.

    Ball run down went 37 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Dave Octigan on the third, Peter Vallance on the seventh, Peter Smiles on the ninth, Tony Crawford on the twelfth and Tony Pridham on the sixteenth.  Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Roger Eddy, whilst Rob Fankhauser was nearest the pin second s=hot on the first. NTP third shot on the fifteenth was Blair St Anne. Best score on holes 1 to 6 was shared by two players.

    There were 2 rabbits for the day, being Shaun wade and Brendan Egan.

    The Gold event saw Keith Millott (33) winning with a score of 34 points.

    The Hounds of Stableford (109 points) lost to TMG’s (116 points)

    Snake Pit (97 points) lost to X-Factors (116 points)

    The Misfits (113 points) Def The Backwards Team (105 points)

    Hard Real Hard (101 points) lost to Complete & Putter Madness (110 points)

    This now ensures the last round before the finals will be very interesting with 3 teams vying for third and fourth positions on the ladder.

     

    Saturday’s event was a Stableford competition.

    We had a field of 36 players out contesting the day.

    The winner was Robin Pratt (16) with a great score of 41 points on a countback from Geoff Brown (11).

    Nearest the pins were Steve McMahon on the third and on the seventh and Mark Jones on the ninth. The second shot on the eighteenth was Blair St Anne and best score on holes 16-18 was Trevor Wright.
