Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 12th May 2019

Congratulations go to Shirley Nolan and Graham Clarke on their win in the Glen Foursomes on Saturday.

This week’s results.

Tuesday’s event saw 24 players out participating for a stroke event.
The winner was Trevor Wright (19) with a fantastic nett 63 from Peter Dolling (21) with a nett 69.
Ball rundown went to nett 74 on a countback. Nearest the pin on the third was Laurie Harcus and on the sixteenth was Peter Dolling. Best scores on the par threes was Trevor Wright.

Thursday’s event saw a great field of 68 golfers braved the forecasted elements for the regular Stableford event with some excellent scores being returned. There were two players competing in the gold event.
The winner of Division One was Mic Davis (14) with a fantastic 45 points from Brad Grant (11) with a great 41 points.
The winner of Division Two was Col Whytcross (22) with an equally satisfying 41 points from Shane O’Brien (19) with 40 points.
Ball run down went 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Phil Conway on the third, Josh Foots on the seventh, Peter Dolling on the ninth, Tony Crawford on the twelfth and Shaun Wade on the sixteenth. Adam Holt collected the NTP second shot on the seventeenth, Rod Sargent picked up the NTP second shot on the tenth and Nick Jones collected the NTP second shot on the seventeenth.
The rabbits were Geoff Morris and Bill Taylor.
The Gold event saw Les Wood (33) have a great win with 38 points.

Saturday’s event saw the running of the annual Glen Mixed Foursomes event.
The event was won by Shirley Nolan and Graham Clarke with a nett 105.75 on a countback from Lesley Anderson and Sam Sandhu with 107.75 nett. This also saw the presentation of the cup by Shirley and Bill Glenn’s daughter Naida Hutton to the winners.
Line balls went to Rob Fankhauser and Robyn Baker, Kane Blunt and Donna Sedgman, Mark Bettany and Lyn Holland, Sam Bailey and Ollie Shaw, Linda Terry and Shaun Wade, Sue and Bill Parsons,. Sheryl and Rod Sargent and Marion Sargeant and Graham Mears.
Nearest the pin on the third was Ryan Cumming and on the seventh Gary Henry.

A Par event was also held with Kerry Hartwig (22) finishing with square firm Mark Jones on a countback. Line balls went minus 1 on a countback. The nearest the pins were Mark Jones on the seventh and Trevor Wright on the sixteenth.
