Men’s Golf Report Week Ending 11th October 2020

Congratulations to Sam Sandhu on winning the October Monthly Medal

With the course in great condition thanks to our fantastic ground staff the final rounds of the Club Championships were conducted on Saturday and Sunday.

The Midweek Results

Tuesday’s weather brought out 32 players to contest a stableford event.
The winner was Alan Parrott (15) with 39 points from Alan Eustace (13) with 37 points and Fred Rogers (18) with 36 points on a countback.
Ball rundown went to 32 points on a countback. The best score on holes 13 – 18 was Doug Carney.

Thursday’s event saw a field of 46 very wet and brave souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned.
The winner of Division One was Jarrod Heath (14) with a great score of 40 points from Peter Vallance (6) with another great score of 39 points.
The winner of Division Two was Steve Chiodo (25) with 36 points from Adrian Smith (23) with 34 points.
Ball run down went 31 points on a countback.
The hidden holes winner was Peter Vallance whilst the best score on par 3’ and 5’s combined was Dan Robertson.
There were two rabbits for the day, being Rob Healy and Martin Slack.

The weekend results

Saturday’s event was a stroke round incorporating the October Monthly Medal sponsored by Walshy’s Wiring and the third round of the club championships. With sixty-one players in the field it was going to require a great score to take out the medal.
The winner of Division One was Josh Green (10) with a nett 70 from Mark Jones (2) with a nett 71.
The winner of Division Two and the October Monthly Medal was Sam Sandhu (16) with a nett 68 from Steve Chisholm (16) also with a nett 72.
Ball run down went to nett 75 on a countback. The best score on the par3’s and 5’s combined was Sam Sandhu, whilst the hidden holes went to Mark Pearson. The JD Perks best scratch score was won by Mark Jones with 72.
