Men’s Golf News Week Ending 21st November 2021

Congratulations go to Alan Parrott for his win in the September Monthly Medal.

Tuesday’s competition was a stroke event with 19 participants.
The winner was Adam Holt (12) with an excellent nett sixty-eight from Brad Grant (10) with a nett seventy-four on a countback.
Line balls went down to nett 79 on a countback.

Wednesday’s twilight competition brought out eleven players for nine holes of stroke on the back nine.
The winner was Rod Sargent (1) with a nett thirty-five from Jarrod Heath (5.5) with a nett thirty-five and a half.

Thursday saw some fine weather and seventy-one players out for a Stableford competition resulting in three divisions. It was also the sixth round of the Men’s Golf League.
The winner of Division One was Maurie Walsh (10) with thirty-seven points from Blair St Anne (5) with thirty-seven points on a countback.
The winner of Division Two was Bill Parsons (20) with forty points from Don Clutterbuck (20) with thirty-eight points.
The winner of Division Three was Tom Swan (25) with the score of the day being forty-one points from Peter Dolling (24) with thirty-seven points.
The nearest the pins were Blair St Anne on the third, Phil Conway on the seventh, Mark Pearson on the ninth, Bill Parsons on the twelfth, Alex Scherini on the sixteenth and Josh Foots for his second shot on the eighteenth. The NTP’s third shot were on the second Rob Dundas and on the fifteenth was Bob Prosser.
Line balls went down to thirty-five points on a countback.
The rabbits were Billy Moran and Dave McKenzie.
In the Golf League the results were:
Boom Shakalaka lost to Happy Spill Mores – 112 points to 113 points
Shitty Shitty Bang Bang Def Snake Pit– 106 points to 101 points
Mansfield Marauders lost to X-Factors – 87 points to 103 points
Boom Crash Opera lost to Sicarios – 95 points to 103 points

Saturday’s event was the September Monthly Medal sponsored by Marks IGA.
With some more warm weather there 56 players out on the park for the day.
The winner of Division One and the Monthly Medal was Alan Parrott (14) with a fantastic sore of sixty-five nett from Luke Vandersluys (6) with a nett sixty-eight.
The winner of Division Two was Bill Parsons (19) with a nett seventy from Peter Dolling (23) with a nett seventy-one.
The nearest the pins on the par threes went to Craig Walsh on the third, Graham Coker on the seventh, Michael Cooksey on the ninth, Luke Vandersluys on the twelfth and Graham Coker on the sixteenth. The best second shot on the eighteenth was Kyle Bridgeman. The NTP’s third shot were on the second Luke Vandersluys and on the fifteenth was Paul Bell.
Line balls went down to nett seventy-four on a countback.
The JD Perks award for the best scratch score went to Mark Jones with seventy-two gross.
