• Men’s Golf News Week Ending 14th November 2021

  • Congratulations go to Craig Walsh for his win in the October Monthly Medal.

    Tuesday’s competition was a one, two, three stableford team event off the gold tees.
    The winners were the team of Adrian Smith, Graham Smith, Charlie Heath and Chris Purcell with 109 points from John Koraus, Peter Smiles, Cecil McIntosh & Don Clutterbuck with 107 points.

    Thursday saw some fine weather and sixty players out for a Stableford competition resulting in two divisions. It was also the fifth round of the Men’s Golf League.
    The winner of Division One was Kerry Hartwig (17) with thirty-nine points from Josh Foots (13) with thirty-six points on a countback.
    The winner of Division Two was Ian Jones (24 with thirty-eight points from Bob Speed (22) with thirty-eight points on a countback.
    The nearest the pins were Bob Speed on the third, Darren Walton (Ringwood) on the seventh, Mark Pearson on the ninth, Rod Sargent on the twelfth, Fletcher Cooper on the sixteenth and Phil Conway for his second shot on the eighteenth.
    Line balls went down to thirty-four points on a countback.
    The rabbits were Kyle Bridgeman and Steve Chisholm.
    In the Golf League the results were:
    Boom Shakalaka lost to Sicarios – 101 points to 106 points
    Shitty Shitty Bang Bang Def X-Factors– 105 points to 97 points
    Mansfield Marauders lost to Snake Pit – 81 points to 104 points
    Boom Crash Opera Def Happy Spill Mores – 100 points to 94 points

    Saturday’s event was the October Monthly Medal sponsored by Walshy’s Wiring.
    With rather cold and sometimes damp weather there only 22 players out and about.
    The winner of the day was Craig Walsh (7) with a nett seventy-one form Rod Sargent (2) on a countback.
    The nearest the pins on the par threes went to Brad Grant on the third, Mark Bettany on the seventh, Peter Barnes on the ninth and Peter Vallance on the sixteenth. The best second shot on the eighteenth was Tony Cooksey.
    Line balls went down to nett seventy-five on a countback.
    The JD Perks award for the best scratch score went to Rod Sargent with seventy-three gross.
