  • MENS GOLF REPORT FOR THE W/E JAN 28TH 2024

    As the school holidays come to an end this last week has seen another week with some rather challenging conditions out on the golf course.

    On Tuesday 30 played in a par competition with Brendan Egan coming out on top with a score of -2 winning on a countback from Peter Barnes and in third place was Damien nRyan also on -2. All 3 played extremely well with Brendan having a better back 9 than the other 2.

    On Thursday 39 decided to play in some pretty unpleasant weather with rain falling for most of the day making completion of the round pretty taxing. The winner on the day was Ian Jones who played earlier in the day with a score of 38 points with Tim Hook coming in second on 36 points beating Adam Holt who also had 36 points, well done to all those who played and completed their rounds in very trying conditions.

    On Saturday terrific field of 65 played in much better conditions and sunshine for a change. With the larger numbers there were 2 divisions with the results as follows;

    A Grade:

    Greg Millott, 2nd place getter in Saturdays B Grade and sponsor of this coming weeks 3 Person Ambrose

    1st: James Octigan 38 points (h/c 12)

    2nd: Paul Ireland 37 points (h/c 37)

    3rd: Kyle Bridgeman 35 points (h/c 1) on a countback

    B Grade:

    1st: Tyson Pollard 45 points (h/c 32)

    2nd: Greg Millott 41 points (h/c 25) on a countback

    3rd: Michael ward 41 points (h/c 32)

    Well done to the 3 winners in B Grade with some outstanding scores, congratulations to Tyson who hasn’t been playing competition golf for very ;one, with that score his handicap will be a little different when he next plays. A  great round by James who played earlier in the day along with Tyson. Nice to see a visitor, Paul Ireland from Yarrambat Golf Club playing well, this doesn’t happen all that often as visitors often find our course a lot harder than the ratings state.

    This coming Saturday February 3rd is the annual 3 person Ambrose that is sponsored by Millott Concreting, entries are quickly filling so if you want to play please register for the 12.30pm shotgun start.
