• Mansfield Ladies Golf Report – Week Ending 19-01-2020

  • It’s great to see so many ladies out there on course during the school holidays – including quite a few of our newest members who are working on getting their handicap, or just honing their skills and meeting new golfing friends during the holiday times.
Tuesdays comp was nearly as big as our Wednesday group with 17 ladies turning up to play the 9 hole stableford event. The two Linda’s were in form on the day, with Linda Terry winning Div 1 with 20 points and Linda Brook winning Div 2 with 18 points. Runners up were Robyn Baker (17) and Lorraine Wilson (14) in the two Divisions respectively.
On Wednesday 21 ladies were out enjoying the milder conditions for a stroke round. Absolutely scooping the pool was Sheryl Sargent who had a fantastic round of nett 65 to win the day, win Div 1, take out the nearest the pin on the 16th, the best score on holes 13-18, best score on the par fives and the best putting!! Well done Sheryl, a great effort! On any other day Lyn Poulson would have been very happy with her nett 71 and this did win her Div 2. Runners up for Div 1 with nett 73 was Sue Parsons and in Div 2, Marion Mitchell with nett 76. Others to take out the minor prizes were, line balls, Nicki Cooper 73, Marg Knapp 76, Millie Cumming 76, Andrea Marsden 78 and Glenis Skinner 78. The other nearest the pins went to Lesley Anderson on the 3rd and Andrea Marsden on the 7th
Another good turnout on Thursday saw 13 ladies contesting the George Walker round and once again Linda Brook was in form with 18 points to take the win overall and in Div 1. Div 2 winner was Marion Foster (15), runners up were Lesley Anderson (16) and visitor from Jubilee, Tracey Russell (12).
Quite a few ladies are off to Yarrawonga on Monday to play in the Vets round up there – look out for those results next week.
