  • Ladies President Wins Monthly Medal

After a week of Stableford competitions, the Monthly Medal Stroke round on Saturday saw our Ladies President, Glenis Skinner beat the field with a very respectable nett 73 points.  Runner up was Meg Broomfield with a nett 77.  Skinner is certainly playing consistent golf both at home and away.

The week of Stableford started on a drizzly Tuesday with 7 ladies playing.  Pam Abbott won with 18 points from Marg Gray with 16.

12 ladies played Wednesday’s Stableford with Sheryl Sargent winning the day with 36 points on a countback from Lyn Poulson.  Nicely played ladies.  Line balls went to Glenis Skinner on 32, Linda Terry and Nicki Cooper on 31, Donalee Ross on 28 and Donna Sedgman on 27 points.  Nearest the pins to Millie Cumming on 3rd and Nicki Cooper on 7th.

Thursday was a quiet day with 4 ladies playing.  Marion Foster won with 16 points on a countback from Pam Abbott.  Abbott seems to be making the 9 holes her specialty.

A contingent of 8 ladies spent the week in Mildura playing the Tri State Championships.  Whilst no silverware was brought home, the team of Louise Calvert-Jones, Marion Sargeant, Shelly Comerford and Jenny Foster were narrowly defeated by one shot in the four person Ambrose event which competing against all of the mens, ladies and mixed teams.  A terrific effort by our ladies.
