• Ladies Golf Report – Week ending 15th September 2019

  • We welcomed back quite a few ladies this week who had been holidaying in warmer climates over winter. They included Meg Broomfield, Robyn Baker and Patsy Smiles. We also welcomed Sue Gell who was visiting from Anglesea GC. Sue’s mother Marg Gell was a past ladies Captain of our club and Sue was revisiting Mansfield in her honour.

It was a great field of 22 who took to the course on Wednesday and it was Marg Knapp who took the winnings for Div 1 on a count-back from Sue Parsons, both with 34 points. Div 2 was won by the in-form Glenis Skinner with a lovely 37 from Linda Brook on 36. Line balls went to Patsy Smiles (35), Nikki Coffey (33), Donna Sedgman and Sheryl Sargent (both 32). Nearest the pins went to Donna Sedgman, Robyn Baker and Sheryl Sargent and the special prizes going to Linda Brook, Glenis Skinner, Patsy Smiles and Donna Sedgman.

On Saturday, 10 ladies contested the stableford competition in glorious conditions, with the winner being Sam Bailey with a stand-out 39 points. Runner up was Gayle Wells with 34 points on a count-back from Linda Brook. Sam also took out the nearest the pin on the 3rd.
Next Wednesday is Ladies Captains Day, playing a fun 6,6,6 stableford. Captain Linda Terry with the help of her partner Michael Lamin will put on a lunch for all afterwards, and with great weather forecast she is hoping for a large field and lots of fun to be had by all!

Next Saturday will be our Monthly Medal (Sponsored by Davon’s Hair Room). Note the earlier day due to the AFL Grand Final on the following weekend.
