• Ladies Golf Report – Week ending 12th November 2017

  • IT was a relatively quiet week on the home course, with the festivities in town keeping players occupied elsewhere.

No players got onto the course on Tuesday (Melbourne Cup Day) – local Cup parties and the local race meeting were more attractive options.

Wednesday’s round preceded the AGM, with 14 holes of Canadian Foursomes providing the fun.

Winners on the day were Sheryl Sargent and Wendy Hunt with a score of 52.

Keeping it in the family. Sheryl Sargent’s mother Marg Gray teamed with Nicki Cooper to come home in second place.

Line balls went to Lyn Poulson and Glenis Skinner on a countback from Gray/Cooper.

Nearest the pins went to Donnalee Ross /Kaye Rose, Sue Parsons/Jenny Foster, Gayle Wells/Marg Knapp.

Thursday’s nine hole attracted a good field and was won by Sam Bailey on 16 on a countback from Sue Parsons, with Pam Abbott on 15.

The travelling ladies were out and about again this week, with eight ladies going to the Sally Symonds 4BBB at Wangaratta on Friday.

There were some great scores on the day from Mansfield teams, but they could not equal the winners, who came in with 53 for the 18 holes – an amazing score.

Our girls were able to bring home some line balls and had a great day in the process.

A reminder to all that the Summer Block competition has started, so if you have not paid your $15 to play in this comp, now is the time to do it.

This week, the Medal of Medals round will be played on Wednesday.

All the winners of the Monthly Medals will now compete for the ultimate prize, the best score among the 11 medal winners.

    Good luck to all.
