Golf Report – week ending 29th October 2017

Congratulations this week go to Ollie Shaw on winning the club championship by a massive 13 shots. Also congrats to Shaun Wade for B grade, Nick Siperki for C grade and Peter Dolling for D grade.

Now for this week’s results

Tuesday’s event saw a field of 30 players out contesting a stableford event.

The winner of Division 1 was Domingo Diaz (14) with an excellent score of 46 points from Geoff Brown (12) with 38 points.

Ball rundown went to 33 points on a countback. Nearest the pin on the seventh was Mike Irwin, on the ninth was Paul Norris and the 16^th was John Richardson. The Pro pin was won by Domingo Diaz. Best score 13-18 was Geoff Brown. Best score on the even holes was Domingo Diaz.

 

Thursday’s event saw a field of 69 very happy souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event, as well as four gold participants.

The winner of Division One was Robin Pratt (16) with a score of 39 points from Phil Conway (11) with37 points on a countback form Chris Anderson (18).

The winner of Division Two was Don Clutterbuck (25) with a good score of 42 points from Charlie Heath (19) with 37 points on a countback from Peter Dolling (22).

Ball run down went 33 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Nick Jones on the seventh, Mike Harrison on the ninth, Dan Robertson on the 12^th and Geoff Brown on the 16^th, and nearest the pin second shot on the 18^th went to Domingo Diaz. Geoff Brown took out the pro pin on the third.  Best score on holes 13-18 was won by Steve McMahon, Geoff Brown, Robin Pratt and Sam Sandhu in Division One, whilst in Division Two they were won by Don Clutterbuck and Ross Vaughan. Best score on Odd holes went to Robin Pratt and Don Clutterbuck.

There were 3 rabbits for the day. The Gold event saw Graham Smith (31) the winner with 39 points from Geoff Lowry (33) with 34 points.

Saturday’s event saw the third round of the Club Championships being held.

The winner of Division 1 and was Oliver Shaw (5) with a fantastic nett 66 from Bill Parsons (16) with a nett 68.

The winner of Division 2 was Laurie Harcus (23) with a nett 69 from Peter Dolling (21) with a nett 72.

Ball rundown went to nett 75 on a countback. Nearest the pin on the seventh was won by Oliver Shaw, David Octigan on the ninth, Ross Walker on the 12^th and Shaun Wade on the 16^th. The pro pin on the third was won by James McCormack and Ross Penny claimed 2^nd shot on the 18^th. Mark Jones claimed NTP on the tenth. Best Score 13-18 went to Bill Parsons, Laurie Harcus and Will Moran. There were also eight two’s on par threes.

Sunday saw the Final round of the Club Championships being held.

The winner of Division 1 was Shaun Wade (14) with a nett 70 on a countback from Dave Octigan (13).

Division 2 was again won by Peter Dolling (21) also with a nett 73 from Adrian Smith (21) with a nett 77.

Ball rundown went nett 75 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Brad Grant on the seventh, Kane Blunt on the ninth, Brad Grant on the 12^th and Shaun Wade on the 16^th. The pro pin on the 3^rd hole was claimed by Bill Taylor, whilst NTP on the 18^th went to Rod Sargent. Best scores 1-6 went to Rob Fankhauser, Chris Anderson and Dave Octigan. The best scores on the ODD holes was shared between Steve McMahon and Ollie Shaw, whilst 16-18 was shared between Rod Sargent and Dave Smithwick.
