Men’s Golf News Week Ending 24th October 2021 By Phil Conway

GOLF IS BACK!!!!

With the return to golf and the restriction of no competitions being removed, our golfing fraternity can now go for a stroll and enjoy some golf and camaraderie.

Tuesday had 20 golfers out and about enjoying a social round of foursomes. The pairings of Peter Dolling and Neil Walker along with Adrian Smith and Chris Purcell and Brad Grant and Taki Murakami showed some fine form on the track. The novelty event went to Geoff Brown on the third.

Thursday saw some fine weather and around 54 players out and about for a social game of Stableford. The scores still are improving, with the best scores being returned Alan Parrott, Ross Vaughan and Rod Sargent. Line balls went down to 31 points.
The novelty events were cleaned up by Rod Sargent on the third, Paul Norris on the seventh, Rob Fankhauser on the ninth, Ross Vaughan on the tenth, Tony Crawford on the twelfth, Rod Sargent on the fifteenth, Geoff Morris on the sixteenth.
The rabbits were Brad Grant and Robin Pratt.

Saturday we had our first competition round. It was a four person Stableford with the best two scores on the odd holes and the worst two scores on the even holes
The best score of the day was compiled by Bob Speed, Fred Rogers, Alan Eustace and Steve Cooksey with 72 points.
Runners-up were Kyle Bridgeman, Steve Chisholm, Mark Pearson and Rod Sargent with 66 points from Shane Brook, Danny Oliver, Don Clutterbuck and Rob Fankhauser with Fifty-Nine points
The nearest the pins on the par threes went Rod Sargent, bob Speed, Kyle Bridgeman, Jim AB, and Stephen Marks. The best on the eighteenth was Ben Millott.

Saturday 27th Nov – Open Stroke – Men’s August Monthly Medal sponsored by Delatite Dental along with Medal of Medals.

Also the new set of hole ratings for the men on their scorecards will now go into effect.
