MENS GOLF FOR THE W/E 22 JANUARY 2024
This weeks stunning weather and great conditions on the course led to some terrific numbers playing in the weekly competitions culminating in the January Monthly Medal on Saturday with Rob Fankhauser having a great round to the medal.
On Tuesday 33 played in a stableford round with John Koraus winning with a score of 41 points (h/c 15) from Shane O’Brien on 40 points (h/c 14) who beat Adrian Smith (h/c 21) on a countback.
On Thursday a great field of 75 played in the weekly stableford round, with that great number there were 3 divisions.
A Grade
1st: Maurice Walsh 38 points (h/c 9)
2nd: Taki Murakami 37 points (h/c 13)
3rd: Brad Grant 36 points (h/c 11) on a countback
B Grade
1st: Bob Cullen 41 points (h/c 17)
2nd: Don Clutterbuck 38 points (h/c 20)
3rd: Phil Reid 37 points (h/c 15) on a countback
C Grade
1st: Glen Mackwell 40 points (h/c 23)
2nd: Bob Speed 38 points (h/c 26)
3rd: Malcolm Kinloch 37 points (h/c 36) on a countback
Well done to Maurice who continues his great form of late, having collected some form of prize money in what seems to have been every competition over the summer. Nice to see Bob Cullen back in the winners circle and congratulation to Glen for winning the C Grade, his first win in a very long time.
On Saturday the monthly medal, sponsored by Sports Power was played with the largest field for a monthly medal in a very long time with a field of 72 playing. Once again there were 3 divisions with the overall winner being Rob Fankhauser who is the January Medal winner.
A Grade

2nd: John Berry 71 net (h/c 10) on a countback
3rd: Kyle Bridgeman 71 net (h/c 1)

A great round by Rob who was a resounding winner of the medal winning by 4 shots. The terrific numbers playing are a great indication of how well the course is playing at the moment A big thank you to Fraser Stevenson from Sports Power for sponsoring the medal this month.
