• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 21st July 2019

    The Midweek results

    On Tuesday we had a field of 16 players contesting a par event.
    The winner was Brad Grant (8) with plus four from Brendan Egan (17) with plus one. Ball rundown went to minus five on a countback. Nearest the Pin on the third was Steve Cooksey and on the sixteenth was Brad Grant. Nearest the pin second shot on the seventeenth was Brendan Egan.

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 46 hardy golfers fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some great scores being returned. There were two players contesting the Gold event. The winner of Division One was Oliver Pearson (1) with a great 39 points (two under the card) from Dave Octigan (10) with 37 points. The winner of Division Two was Daryl Horwood (32) also with 39 points from Keith Murphy (26) with 37 points. Ball run down went 34 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Jarrod Heath on the third, Fred Rogers on the seventh, Dave Octigan on the ninth, Peter Vallance on the twelfth and Don Clutterbuck on the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Geoff Brown. The NTP second shot on the tenth hole was taken out by Rob Healy, and the hidden holes was shared Charlie Heath, Geoff Morris, Keith Murphy and Fred Rogers
    The Gold event winner was Les Wood (33) with 29 points.
    There were two rabbits for the day, being Gary Johnson and Martin Slack.

    The Weekend results

    Saturday’s event was a stroke competition for the July monthly medal with 28 golfers vying for the prize. The winner of was Mark Jones (5) with a net 70 from Mark Bettany (5) with a nett 71. Ball run down went to nett 74 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Rob Pratt on the third, Brad Grant on the seventh, Mark Pearson on the ninth, Mark Jones on the twelfth and Phil Conway on the sixteenth. The NTP second shot on the tenth and eighteenth were both won by Oliver Pearson. The hidden holes was shared by Dave Octigan, Mark Pearson and Tony Pridham. The JD Perks best scratch score went to Oliver Pearson with a 74 gross.
