• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 11th August 2019

  • The Midweek results

    Tuesday had a field of twenty-three players competing in a stableford event. The winner was Neil Walker (29) with 36 points from Peter Baddeley (16) also with 36 points on a countback. Ball run down went to 28 points on a countback. Nearest the pin on the third was Oli Pearson and on the sixteenth was Geoff Brown. The hidden holes winner was Neil Walker.

    Thursday’s event saw the regular Stableford event being conducted with only twenty-five players in the competition and battling a bit of inclement weather. The winner was Paul Cougle (6) with 38 points from Adam Holt (14) with 37 points.
    Ball run down went 34 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Adam Holt on the third, Maurie Walsh on the ninth and Geoff Morris on the sixteenth. The hidden holes was shared by Adam Holt and Rod Sargent.
    The Gold event was won by Geoff Lowry (26) with 29 points.
    There was only one rabbit for the day. The recipient was Bob Cullen.

    The Weekend results

    Saturday’s event was a stableford round to replace the postponed Professionals day as well as the #DoingItForJarrod charity day.
    The winner was Mic Davis (12) with 40 points from Rod Sargent (4) with 35 points on a countback. Line balls went down to 27 points on a countback.
    Nearest the pin on the third was Oli Pearson, on the ninth was Dan Robertson and on the sixteenth was Mic Davis. The nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth with an eagle was Shaun Wade.

    Sunday saw the running of the 2019 SES Fundraiser Golf Day comprising a three person Ambrose.. Organised and sponsored by JSM Car Detailing.
    The winning team was comprised Luke and Henry Berriman and Dan Robertson with 59.5 nett. The second place team were Mark Jones, Dean Seccull and Adam Holt with 60.5 nett. The third places team were Gary Henry, John Hickey and Warren Watkins with 62.75 nett.
    Nearest the pin on the third was Adam Holt, on the seventh was John Hickey, on the twelfth Oli Pearson and on the sixteenth was Simon Rouget. The nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth and the tenth was Mark Jones. The longest drive on the fifth hole was collected by Brad Grant.
