• Men’s Golf Report – week ending 26th November 2017

    Now for this week’s results.

    Tuesday’s event saw 30 players out for a stableford event.

    The winner Aaron Madsen (12) with a score of 39 points on a countback from Ken Fisher (29).

    Ball rundown went to 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Kevin Jacobs on the seventh and Greg Johnstone on the 16th. Nearest the Pin second shot on the 18th went to Russ Breadon whilst the pro pin was collected by Steve McMahon. The best score holes 7-12 went to Neil Walker and Steve McMahon picked the only 2 on a par 3.

     

    Wednesday’s nine hole event was a stableford affair this week. The winner was Mark (Funky) Jones with 20 points on a countback from Laurie Harcus.

     

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 54 souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event with some hot scores being returned. There were also five players competing in the gold event.

    The winner of Division One was Chris Anderson (16) with a great score of 43 points from Trevor Wright (18) with 41 points.

    The winner of Division Two was evergreen Don Clutterbuck (24) also with a great score of 44 from Geoff Morris (21) with a great score of 42 points.

    Ball run down went 37 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Bob Speed on the seventh, Alan Parrott on the ninth, Michael Grimes on the 12th and Peter Cullen on the 16th, and nearest the pin second shot on the 18th went to Perrin Gooding. Michael Harrison took out the pro pin on the third.  Best score on holes 13-18 was shared between Peter Cullen, Gordon Jeffs and Trevor Wright. Best score on every third hole was also shared. The claimants were Dave McKenzie and Geoff Morris. The rabbits for the day went to Adam Holt and Tony Pridham.

    The Gold event saw Geoff Lowry (32) continue his winning form with 45 points from Keith Millott (33) with 41 points.

     

    Saturday’s event saw a field of 38 players contesting the November Monthly Medal, sponsored by Delatite Dental.

    The winner of the day and the medal was Adam Holt (20) with an excellent nett 65 from Brad Grant (7) with nett 70 on a countback from Ross Penny (8) and Nick Jones (23).

    Ball run down went to nett 72 on a countback. Nearest the pins were Rod Sargent on the 7th, Adam Holt on the 9th, Rob Healy on the 12th and Brad Grant on the 16th. The nearest the pin second shot on the 18th was claimed by Mark Jones, whilst the Pro Pin on the third went to Shelly Comerford. Nearest the pin second shot on the tenth went to Rod Sargent, while the best score holes 7-12 was shared by Clive Marsden, Adam Holt, Damien Ryan, Rob Fankhauser and Louise Calvert-Jones. The JD Perks scratch winner was Brad Grant with 77 gross.
