• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 21st April 2019

  • Hot scores still rolling through the course

    Tuesday had 35 players playing in a stroke event.
    The winner was Robert Thomson (22) with an excellent nett 66 from Aaron Madsen (11) with a nett 68.
    Ball rundown went to nett 74 on a countback. Nearest the Pin on the third was Geoff Brown, on the sixteenth was David Smithwick, and best score holes 12-18 was John Hayes.

    Thursday’s event saw a great field of 85 enthusiastic golfers vying for the trophies in the regular Stableford event with some excellent scores being returned. There were four players contesting the Gold event.
    The winner of Division One was David Octigan (12) with an impressive score of 40 points from Adam Holt (13) on a countback.
    The winner of Division Two was Mic Davis (15) with a fantastic 45 points from Greg Johnstone (18) with 41 points.
    The winner of Division Three was Tom Swan (26) with 38 points from Peter Dolling (21) with 37 points.
    Ball run down went 35 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Perrin Gooding on the third, Maurie Walsh on the seventh, Mic Davis on the ninth, Rod Sargent on the twelfth and Bill Hammen on the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth was collected by Blair St Anne. The closest to the pin on the first second shot was won by Tony Crawford, closest third shot on the thirteenth was Shaun Wade, whilst on the fifteenth it was Mic Davis.
    The Gold event winner was Geoff Lowry (29) with 40 points.
    There were two rabbits for the day, being Geoff Brown and Steve Chisholm.

    Saturday’s event was a stableford competition with plenty of visitors competing for the prizes. The winner of Division One was Bob Cullen (14) with a score of 39 points from Rod Sargent (3) with 38 points.
    The winner of Division Two was Rob Healy (19) with also with 39 points from Wayne Crump (15) with 37 points. Ball rundown went to 32 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Barry Williams on the third and Kirk Hayward on the sixteenth. Nearest the pin second shot on the eighteenth and the hidden holes were both collected by Dan Robertson.

    Saturday 11th May – Glen Foursomes (Mixed Event) over 27 holes

    NEDGA Pennant finals on Sunday 28th April @ Commercial Albury. The handicap team will be up against Yarrawonga for a chance at the flag.
