• Men’s Golf Report – Week ending 19th November 2017

  • Congratulations this week go to the Summer Pennant team on their 4/1 win at Shepparton against Tocumwal. However brick bats go to Ross and Phil for losing 7/6 to the pro, who finished 5 under the card!

    Now for this week’s results.

    Tuesday’s event saw 25 players out for a stableford event.

    The winner Fred Rogers (14) with a score of 38 points on a countback from Domingo Diaz (13).

    Ball rundown went to 33 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Brad Grant on the ninth and Domingo Diaz on the 16th. The pro pin was collected by Paul Norris and the best score holes 13-18 went to Brad Grant.

    Wednesday’s nine hole event was a stroke affair this week. The winner was Steve Chisholm with a nett 33 from Terry Jones with a nett 34.

    Thursday’s event saw a field of 28 souls fronting the starter for the regular Stableford event of which 22 managed to beat the inclement weather.

    The winner of was Michael Cooksey (13) a great score of 43 points on a countback from Fred Rogers (13).

    Ball run down went 36 points on a countback. Nearest the pins were Brad Grant on the seventh, Don Clutterbuck on the ninth, Bob Cullen on the 12th and Ross Vaughan on the 16th, and nearest the pin second shot on the 18th went to Fred Rogers. David McKenzie took out the pro pin on the third.  Best score on holes 1-6 was shared between Perrin Gooding and Taki Murakami. Best score on holes 13-18 Ross Vaughan, and best score on holes 7-10 went to Peter Cullen. Four players had two’s on par threes.

    The Gold event saw Peter Healy (32) the winner with 32 points.

     

    Saturday saw a par event being held.

    The winners was Robert Fankhauser with a great score of 9 Up from Ken Fisher with 7 Up. Ball rundown went to Square on a countback. Nearest the pin on the seventh was won by Steve McMahon, Michael Aistrope on the ninth, and Chris Mathieson from Howlong took out the NTP on 16 as well as the pro pin on the third. Best score on holes 13-18 went to Shaun Wade, while Rob Fankhauser collected best score on the even holes.

    As previously mentioned, the YSM pennant team won 4/1 with the winners being Tony Crawford and Brad Grant 5/4, Rod Sargent and Peter Vallance on the 19th, Mark Bettany and Shaun Wade 3/1 with Jarrod Heath and Damian Ryan by walkover.
