Men’s Golf Report Week Ending 12th July 2020

The Midweek results

Tuesday’s event was a Stableford competition with 20 players out in the sunny conditions.
The winner was Ray Findlay (21) with a great 38 points from Shane O’Brien (16) with 36 points.
Line balls went down to 31 points on a countback. The hidden holes were won by Rob Healy.

Thursday’s event was the regular stableford competition with a field of 54 players owing to rather cold and bleak conditions. There were also two competitors in the Gold event.
The winner of Division One was Tony Crawford (6) with an excellent score of 42 points (even Par) from second placed Shane O’Brien (16) with a score of 36 points.
The winner of Division Two was Nick Jones (20) with another excellent score of 42 points from second placed Laurie Harcus (20) with a score of 37 points.
Line balls went down to 30 points on a countback, and the best score on the par fives went to Alan Parrott. The best score on the par fours was Tony Crawford, whilst on the par threes it was Mark Bettany who only got one shot for the five holes. Great score Mark.
The Gold event was won by Tony Froud (17) with 23 points after Geoff Lowry forgot to sign his card.
And we had rabbits as well! The winners were Geoff Morris and Blair St Anne.

The Weekend Results

Saturday’s event was stroke competition with the bleak conditions still prevailing with only two very brave competitors.
The winner was Paul Barnes (20) with a nett 84.
Congratulations to you and Sam on completing the course in the conditions.

With the current conditions changing day by day, we would remind ALL players to check the Local Rules board to confirm what changes have been made.

Would all members please note that the finals for the Bill Reardon Matchplay are to now be played on Sunday 2nd August from 10am, the men’s competitors are Dean Seccull to play Rod Sargent over 27 holes. The ladies competitors are Sue Parsons and Glenis Skinner.
