• Ladies Golf Report – Week ending 2nd December 2018

  • “A Mixed Week of Golf Competitions”

Semi-finals for the Premier League and Summer Pennant were played last week.

In the Premier League, the Scramblers defeated the All Smiles and the Salt & Pepper defeated the Silver Drivers.  The final will be played by Lyn Poulson, Norma Friday & Glenis Skinner (Scramblers) against Shirley Nolan, Sue Parsons and Donna Sedgman (Salt & Pepper).  The names don’t do justice to the great golf played by these ladies!

The ladies who played in the Summer Pennant competition between Mansfield, Bright, Jubilee and Myrtleford managed to qualify for the finals at Jubilee next Friday, on a countback.  Mansfield will be the defending champions.

Our weekly competitions were all stableford games.  On Tuesday, Robyn Baker won Division 1 (18 points) and Lorraine Wilson won Division 2 (17 points).

Another great field of 26 ladies played Wednesday.  Donna Sedgman won Division 1 (32 points) on a countback from Linda Terry.  Marion Sargeant blitzed the field with 40 points to win Division 2 from Linda Brook (35 points).  Nearest the pins were Robyn Baker on 3rd, Andrea Marsden on 7th and Sheryl Sargent on 16th.  Marion Sargeant naturally won the best score on holes 13 – 18 and Robyn Baker secured the chipping competition by chipping into the hole.

An interstate visitor from Peregian Springs Golf Club, Jennifer Rennie, won Thursday with 20 points.  She obviously enjoyed the course.

The ladies winning team in the Hew Blunt Memorial three person Ambrose on Saturday was Sam Bailey, Lesley Anderson and Marion Foster with net 66.33.  Line balls went to Robyn Baker, Sheryl Sargent and Sue Parsons with net 68.

Good luck to the finalists in the Premier League and Summer Pennant.

    Cheers
