  • Parsons and Skinner to meet in Bill Reardon Finals
Picture perfect conditions welcomed our 4 qualifiers for the Bill Reardon Matchplay who played their semi finals on Sunday. Sue Parsons and Lesley Anderson fought out a tight match with Parsons only taking the win on the 18th hole – bad luck Lesley! Glenis Skinner, in recent great form, made slightly easier work of it against Margie Franke-Williams, winning 6/5. Glenis and Sue will now meet in the 27 hole final on Sunday 12th July.
For the rest of the comps this week, we started with 6 ladies playing their 9 hole stroke round on Tuesday. Winner with an excellent score of nett 35 was Linda Brook. Linda included a lovely birdie on the 16th in her round. Runner up was Robyn Baker with nett 40.
On Wednesday 17 ladies took to the course in pretty heavy conditions for their June Monthly Medal. The scores as a result were not the greatest, but it is all about the conditions everyone is faced with on the day. Winner of the Medal, sponsored with thanks, by Loyola Jewels, was Sue Parsons, with an admirable net 79. Runner up on a count-back was Sheryl Sargent, unlucky to miss out with her nett 79. Balls went to Gayle Wells 80, Shelly Comerford 81, Millie Cumming, Marion Mitchell, Robyn Baker, and Linda Brook all 83, Lyn Poulson and Linda Terry 84. Gayle Wells won the putting with 26 putts and Sue Parsons had the best score on holes 12-18.
No players on Thursday and just 7 on Saturday for another round of stroke. Winner was Lyn Poulson with nett 79, runner up Patsy Smiles with nett 80 and Sue Parsons won the putting with 27 putts.

On a final note, members are delighted with the new tee boxes which have been installed at every hole in the last few weeks. Built by club member Steve Chisholm on-site at Chippy’s Timber, they look terrific and create a much smarter, more uniform look at each tee across the course. Thanks Steve and Brent Campbell!
